Recreation in the Mid Kettle Moraine

Looking for recreation opportunities in Southeastern Wisconsin this summer? Your search is over!

The Mid Kettle Moraine Partners Group is a coalition of groups and individuals dedicated to protecting the landscape between the northern and southern units of the Mid Kettle Moraine State Forest.

In 2011 the Partners Group produced a map featuring recreational opportunities in the Mid Kettle Region. This free publication highlights over 100 locations and activities in the Mid Kettle. The assests are arranged in seven categories:

Couple at Ackerman's Grove - Courtesy Washington County Planning and Parks Department

  • Ice Age Trail
  • Multi-Use Recreational Trails
  • Canoe/Kayak Routes
  • Rustic Roads & Scenic Drives
  • Natural Areas & Parks
  • Boat Launches
  • Historical Markers

The UW-Extension Natural Resources Educators have translated this brochure into a digital version that includes pictures, a free PDF download of the brochure, and links to web pages and maps of many of the recreational opportunities. Visit the website here!
