Laurie Gungel New Assistant Director at Milwaukee County UW-Extension Office

Laurie Gungel is the new Assistant Director of the Milwaukee County Cooperative Extension office. She brings extensive experience in managing projects, grants and staff, and coordinating volunteers at local government, educational institutions and a non-profit bookstore in northern Illinois.
Laurie concentrated on board development, fund raising, grant management and outreach for the Carroll County (IL) Economic Development Corporation and the Tri-County Economic Development Alliance in northern Illinois. She coordinated over 200 volunteers who staff the VOICES Book Nook in Freeport, IL. VOICES sales support the Domestic Violence Program in Stephenson, IL.
As Director of the Business Institute of Highland Community College, Laurie worked to provide customized training and continuing education to businesses in the four northwest counties of Northern Illinois.
Laurie stated, “I am excited about working with Extension staff and volunteers. Milwaukee County Cooperative Extension has a rich history of involvement with Milwaukee County residents. I look forward to making a contribution toward even stronger alliances among those who live and work in Milwaukee County.”
