What is a logic model?

A logic model is a graphic depiction of the relationship between program activities and intended effects. They help us plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate our work more effectively.

Why are they useful?

They help:

  • Provide a common language
  • Differentiate between “what we do” and “results”
  • Enhance understanding about the program
  • Guide and focus the work
  • Guide decision-making and allocation of resources
  • Help identify important variables to measure and ensure wide utilization of evaluation resources
  • Leverage funding as they are increasingly being required
