Housing and Foreclosure Prevention

Foreclosure Prevention

Milwaukee County Cooperative Extension offers education and outreach activities designed to combat rising foreclosure rates and help participants to become savvy loan product consumers. Education is focused on:

  • Increasing consumer and community partner awareness
  • Building knowledge, skills and practices surrounding predatory lending and foreclosure to ensure preservation of homeownership and build awareness of predatory lending characteristics
  • Developing proactive workshops, community resource enhancement and local,
state and national collaboration surrounding predatory lending prevention and foreclosure
    prevention.

In cooperation with the City of Milwaukee, Milwaukee County Cooperative Extension provides staff support for the Milwaukee Foreclosure Partnership Initiative. For more information, visit Milwaukee Housing Help.

For more information on predatory lending and foreclosure prevention education programs, contact Suzanne Dennik, 414-256-4672 or suzanne.dennik@ces.uwex.edu.
