4-H Gateway Academies are day camps with a summertime experience designed to inspire students to learn more about science, technology, engineering, and math.

As a part of Milwaukee County's commitment to the National 4-H SET goal of creating one million young scientists by 2013, Milwaukee Public Schools and Milwaukee County UW-Extension Office will be sponsoring two 4-H Gateway Academies this summer. A third academy was sponsored by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers Education Foundation.
Who Can Be a 4-H Gateway Academy Camper?
Gateway Academy campers are:
¦¦ Any Milwaukee Public School student who is entering grades seven, eight, or nine during
the upcoming school year.
¦¦ Into having fun, learning something new,
and making friends.
¦¦ Curious about the way things work.
¦¦ Attending a school district that offers
the PLTW engineering pathway.
¦¦ Interested in STEM careers.
